To study the impact of VTE screening, prophylaxis, evaluation and management trends in hip and knee arthroplasty, an updated survey of the active membership of the AAHKS was performed. Since 2000, many changes have been developed and implemented to reduce the incidence of VTE in hip and knee arthroplasty. Moreover, our survey was designed to explore current VTE evaluation and management protocols and the impact of recent CHEST and AAOS VTE guidelines on members’ clinical practice decisions.
