Retrieval Analysis of Cross-linked Acetabular Polyethylene Liners

There is a growing body of information on cross-linked acetabular polyethylene performance, most of which focuses on marked reduction in head penetration. However, there have been reports of mechanical failures occurring at early follow-up. There are very few reports of retrieved cross-linked hip polyethylene with more than two years in-vivo. This report includes eight Marathon liners retrieved after more than two years of service.
