Projection of the Cost of Implant Surveillance after Total Joint Arthroplasty

There is a projected major increase in the need for total joint replacement over the next three decades. Nevertheless, routine clinical follow-up protocols have not been established, and the cost of implant surveillance is not well known. The purpose of this study was to project the cost of providing implant surveillance for THA and TKA patients treated in the United States healthcare system between 2004 and 2030.
