Total knee replacement is an effective procedure to relieve pain from advanced osteoarthritis of the knee and more than 95% of patients report satisfaction with the outcome. However, a small group of patients is dissatisfied after TKR. The purpose of this study is to examine narcotic use in a national cohort of TKR patients and assess the association of narcotic use with post-TKR satisfaction.
