Incidence of Noise in Two Modern Alumina-alumina Total Hip Designs

Alumina ceramic has demonstrated low wear rates in simulator and clinical studies. However, recent concerns of ceramic “noise” have been reported. To determine if component design is a factor in the prevalence of squeaking, two ceramic hip designs utilizing the identical alumina ceramic were radiographically and clinically reviewed.
