The initial stability of a cementless femoral stem is an important predictor of the clinical success of the THR. Tapered cementless stems have proven to successfully relieve pain and restore function. Radiostereometric analysis (RSA) provides precise and reproducible measurement of the micromotion of THR components. Currently, little data is available regarding the micromotion of cementless femoral stems.
