Do Preoperative Antibiotics Decrease Intraoperative Culture Yield?

Intraoperative tissue culture remains the criterion standard in diagnosing periprosthetic infection. However, an organism is not always cultured; and this has been attributed to the fact that preoperative antibiotics were administered. This study intends to examine if preoperative antibiotics prevent isolation of intraoperative organisms.
