Common threads in hip, knee, and shoulder arthroplasty

In the last decade, total shoulder arthroplasty (TSA) has moved from the realm of the university specialist to that of the community surgeon, similar to total hip arthroplasty (THA) and total knee arthroplasty (TKA) in the decades before it. These articles examine 3 important issues in THA, TKA, and TSA: i) fixation, ii) management of periprosthetic fractures, and iii) management of instability.
