Hip Knee

Both revision total hip (THA) and knee (TKA) arthroplasty are regarded as effective surgical procedures in terms of relieving pain and improving function. It has been reported in the literature that patients undergoing primary THA have a significantly greater improvement in pain and function compared to their TKA counterparts. However, the efficacy of the more complex revision procedures using patient generated quality of life assessments has yet to be revealed. This purpose of this prospective study was to pinpoint outcome disparities, if any, between patients undergoing revision THA and TKA.
