Hepatitis C is a worldwide health problem, infecting 1.8 % of the United States population. Although some studies suggest increased morbidity and mortality in cirrhotic patients undergoing surgery, little is known about the effects of hepatitis C in asymptomatic patients undergoing total hip and knee arthroplasty (THA and TKA). We evaluated the outcome of hip and knee replacements in seropositive hepatitis C patients.
