The Role of Implant Design and Soft Tissue Structures on CCK Knee Joint Stability
Aamer Malik; Xiaonan Wang; Douglas E. Padgett; Timothy M. WrightKnee
After constrained condylar knee replacement (CCK), varus-valgus stability is achieved by femorotibial contact, contact between the tibial post and femoral box, and collateral ligaments. The relative constraint provided by each mechanism is unknown, despite the importance of constraint in performance and longevity of the implants. Our goal was to quantify the contribution of these stabilizing factors.
