Revision total hip arthroplasty (THA), though very successful, can fail in some patients. The etiology of failure after revision THA is not well-delineated. It is not known, for example, if the failures occurring after revision surgery is related to the initial failure or as a result of a new mechanism. The objective of this study was to determine the mechanisms of failure after revision total hip replacement.
