Joint replacement surgeries at Coxa

The majority of joint replacement surgeries at Coxa are performed on the knee and hip joints, but we also perform shoulder, elbow and ankle surgeries. In addition, demanding artificial joint repeat surgeries and tumour surgeries are constantly being performed at Coxa, requiring a high level of expertise.

Hip

Hip joint replacement surgery is usually needed to treat osteoarthritis or a rheumatic disease. Repeat surgery may be necessary due to wear or separation of the artificial joint.

Hip joint replacement surgery aims to facilitate movement, reduce pain, restore working and functional capacity and improve the quality of life.

Joint replacement repeat surgery

Although the results of joint replacement surgery have continuously improved, some artificial joints need to be replaced prematurely. The most typical reasons for repeat surgery are separation or wear of the artificial joint components and infections. In the case of artificial hips, dislocation of the artificial joint may constitute a reason for repeat surgery.
