TOTAL KNEE REPLACEMENT SURVIVORSHIP BY DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

Introduction: Total knee replacement implants have several design philosophies. These designs have developed through a desire to address the competing issues of constraint, polyethylene wear, range of motion or kinematics replication. Broadly, four overriding philosophies have evolved; cruciate-retaining (CR), posterior stabilised (PS), medial pivot (MP) and mobile bearing (MB). We report outcomes of implant survivorship based on design philosophy using data from 14 ^th Annual NJR.
